Distal Biceps Repair

Elbow Treatments & Surgeries - Adelaide Orthopaedic Specialist

Distal biceps tendon repair surgeries are used to repair the biceps tendon in instances where it has torn away from the bone. Without surgery, the tendon will not reattach itself to the bone on its own, which can lead to lifelong weakness and decreased function in the affected arm.

Following surgery, you will need to undergo rehabilitation (rehab) to help you regain strength and control in your arm. This begins after the splint or brace is removed, and generally lasts for about two months.

Dr James McLean provides consultation and distal biceps repair surgery at his multiple practice locations in Adelaide and Darwin, along with a wide variety of other elbow treatments and procedures.
