Superior labral tear from anterior to posterior (SLAP) are a common cause of recurrent shoulder pain in young, active individuals. These lesions have come into public awareness because of their frequency in athletes involved in overhead (throwing) activities. Although 10 varieties of SLAP lesion have been described on MRI or MR arthrography, 4 clinical types are generally described.
